IT Solutions Manager
The IT Solutions Manager role is responsible for day-to-day management of business engagement services and solution implementations on behalf of the Information Technology (IT) group. This role regularly interfaces with line of business Vice Presidents and Directors to develop solutions in support of organizational strategic goals, while providing technology consultation to business units on critical business problems, defining business processes, researching, and identifying enabling technologies based on customer requirements. This role is also responsible for the financial investment objectives of assigned projects and project portfolio. The primary output deliverable that the IT Solutions Manager will deliver for each program and/or project assignment is a business systems roadmap that clearly articulates the solution, strategy alignment, costs and value to the organization.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitIes:
•Collaborates with business leaders in planning technology strategies that facilitate and enable business initiatives, growth requirements and efficiency goals.
•Develop and maintain a business systems roadmap that clearly articulates the solution, strategy alignment, costs and value to the organization.
•Engages the business in discussions regarding chronic business impacting production incidents, ensuring production support involvement to achieve resolution.
•Drives the assessment of the technological cost and impact of any major recommended system change, helps clarify priorities, and coordinates cross-organizational impact or benefit where common needs have been identified.
•Ensures technology is aligned with business processes and goals and is an architectural fit within IT through collaboration with the technology and project delivery teams.
•Consults with technical subject matter experts and develops alternative technical solutions; advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities; brokers services provided by IT group and external providers on behalf of clients.
•Oversees the development and ongoing management of IT group policies required to support security, business continuity planning, project development methodologies and financial controls.
•Ensures that the business needs are represented on major technology initiatives.
•Supports the achievement of IT group's mission, vision and goals.
•Confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities and methods.
•Controls expenses and is responsible for meeting budget goals and activities.
•Conducts quarterly reviews of in-flight and/or planned roadmap and program/project portfolio.
•Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, and/or a related field or equivalent experience required.
•8 to 10 years of increasingly responsible assignments, including managerial assignments, systems analysis, programming, and/or infrastructure positions in a computer intensive environment.
•Minimum 7 years management level experience required.
•Demonstrated experience with external vendor management and project delivery.
•Health plan, health insurance or other applicable industry experience desirable.
•Any combination of academic education, professional training or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and of the position and demonstrate the required competencies.
